2em;">1957年春，东张陈周金、王芝玉、张裔宗等几位有识之士，他们高中毕业后，看到东张没有中学，很多小学毕业生考不上县办中学，就没有上中学读书的机会，于是心生办学之念，想办一所东张私立中学，让东张小学毕业生都能上中学读书。他们热心办学之举，在东张一些华侨的资助下，得到镇政府的支持、帮助和同意，决定举办“东张华侨中学”。校址设在旧东张街附近中部地带，报福清县教育局审批获准，终于在1957年秋季创办开学。<br/></span></p><p YaHei;">东张华侨中学白手起家，没有校舍，租了一间大厅堂做教室和一间厢房做办公厅，师生宿舍另租民房用。学校生源主要来自东张各乡村小学毕业的落榜生，兼收王坑、镜洋、墩头、磨石、宏路、真丰、上迳等地和渔溪、一都各乡村小学毕业落榜生，首届收初一年一个班级，男女生近50人。陈周金任校长、王芝玉任教导主任。东</span><span style="font-family:微软雅黑, Microsoft YaHei;text-indent:2em;">张华侨中学的创办，结束了东张没有中学的历史。</span></p><p style="margin:0pt 0pt YaHei;">1958年秋，第二学年即将开始，因为建设东张水库，东张华侨中学要从旧东张搬迁到新东张倪兜山。搬新址新建了三间木瓦房教室，教师办公厅设在倪斗山下宫庙里，厨房用木板搭在宫庙旁边，师生宿舍租用民房。师生上课、用餐、住宿条件十分艰苦。新学年招初一新生两个班上百人，加上原来初二一个班，全校学生近150人，教职员工也增加到10个人。全校师生边上课，边投入建设校园校舍劳动，边参加全民大炼钢铁政治活动，师生们在革命大熔炉中得到了磨炼。<br/></span></p><p YaHei;">第三学年，学校教学秩序逐渐走向正常。正当第一届近50人即将毕业时，突然传来好消息说，福建省闽侯专区要接收东张华侨中学全校师生办水利电力学校，培养水利工程技术人才。校址设在东张水库管委会附近，暂时没有校舍就利用建设水库大坝工人住过的破草房。经过修补后的草房作为学校的教室、办公厅、宿舍、厨房、膳厅。福建省闽侯专区水利电力学校，就是这样白手起家宣布成立，第一任校长由东张水库管委会党委书记柴长林兼任，常务副校长是陈周金（原东张华侨中学校长），教导主任是林木，副教导主任是张裔宗（原东张华侨中学教师），专业教职员工10来个人，学生就是原东张华侨中学二、三年级学生，近150人，全校师生员工共160多人。师生吃住和上课全是在草房里，既要上课学习，又要经常参加建校劳动，学习生活和劳动极为艰苦。但是师生们都无怨言，都自觉遵守纪律，听从教导和指挥，艰苦奋斗，刻苦学习。<br/></span></p><p 2em;">1958年秋，东张华侨中学被闽侯专区接办并迁校后，东张华侨中学就消失了，东张没有中学了。第二年春，福清县政府、教育主管部门和东张公社领导商议创办东张中学事宜。经过几个月磋商、筹备、审批，终于决定在东张的红山上建校办中学，校名定为“福清第七中学”。1959年9月，福清第七中学诞生了。创校伊始，红山上全是灌木、荆棘，校舍还没建好，暂用东张镇区玉井宫古庙为校舍，教室是利用原来办在玉井宫的玉井小学教室（当时玉井小学已与东张小学合并迁到东张小学新校舍）。福清第七中学刚创办时只是初级中学，师生们边学习边劳动，披荆斩棘，栉风沐雨，艰苦奋斗，历时一年多，“新生楼”在红山上诞生了。师生上课有了教室，但师生宿舍还在玉井宫；又过两年多，宿舍楼、厨房、膳厅也建好了，师生才全成为普通完全中学。这一年，福清东张中学一部分领导和教师下乡与道桥小学合并办学，小学兼办初中班，学校称“东张中学道桥分校”。1975年后，中小学教育教学渐渐上正轨。1977年秋季，道桥小学改制为小学戴帽初中班，校名“福清县道桥学校”。校长为林金旺、王水生。1980年秋季，为了加强福清东张中学师资队伍建设，道桥分校的中学教师全部调回东张中学任教。在中学的道桥小学教师也回到原小学。<br/></span></p><p YaHei;">东张中学自创校以来，尤其是改革开放以来，在各级政府关怀下，有海外华侨、港澳同胞、乡亲、校友和侨胞、乡贤组织等为东张中学慷慨解囊，助力学校办学事业的发展，他们中，个人有倪朝禄、陈承铭、陈承顺、赖方英、汤学奇、赖水镰、周维桢、姚春桂、王其义、王中良、黄诗芬、黄以宏、王和水、王和贵、陈德新、陈德良、陈德泉,倪政全、倪时歆、王和贵、许雪梅，何文金、蔡代栋、伍爱珍、陈宝成等，集体有东张侨联、香港东张校友联谊会、新加坡同乡会、印尼同会、旅日乡亲亲校友联谊会等，他们乐捐善款用于东张中学建设教学楼、办公楼、科技楼、宿舍楼、运动场、食堂、餐厅、大礼堂和各种教育教学设施设备。他们爱国爱乡、关心家乡教育事业、热心办学的义举受到全体师生和人民群众的尊敬和赞扬，也受到各级政府东张中学经过几代人的努力，学校不断发展壮大。目前校园占地面积44879m2（近70亩），建筑面积29672m2，绿地面积18590m2。学校基础设施齐全，有200M塑胶跑道附设两个小型足球运动场；有一幢教学大楼，共49间标准教室；有一幢综合科技大楼，含图书馆，内藏书共81711册；有办公楼、学生公寓大楼、学生食堂各一幢；还有教工宿舍楼四幢。学校现有教学班31个、学生数1441人；<br/></span></p><p 2em;">自1960年9月，东张华侨中学被闽侯专区接办为闽侯专区水利电力学校后，东张华侨中学消失了。从这一年开始到1964年6月，每年东张有很多小学毕业生不能考上县办中学，许多小小年纪的孩子就上不了中学读书。中共东张公社党委书记、社长商议要办一所中学，让落榜小学毕业生都能上中学读书。经过他们积极筹措，校址选在东张濑底茶场场部办学，校名称为“福清东张农业中学”。东张公社出资建设3间教室，办公厅、宿舍借用茶场平房。东张公社社长周振辉兼任东张农业中学名誉校长，常务校长由茶场场长温存官兼任，教导主任由陈振松担任，有3位教师。经过紧张筹备，1964年10月东张农业中学成立并初正式开学，第一学年招收40多个小学毕业的落榜生，第二和第三学年分别招收50多个小学毕业落榜生。到了第三学年全校学生有150多人，教师增加到8个。可是，当第三届学生招入学习不到一学期时“文革，”动乱就开始了，学校教学秩序受到了破坏，1967年秋学校被迫停课。1970年初，东张农业中学就宣告停办，大部分学生转到东张中学就读。</span></p></section></section></section></section><section
